is thinking how true the following quote must be. Published my 1st book (Five Pillars Of The Apostolic) back in 2000 on the advice of The Lord, when The Holy Spirit said to me... "Put it in a book for that will speak much louder than any thing you may have to say at this point..." see more
Here's the quote: Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers. - Charles W Eliot
Been reading Spurgeon and here is yet another Gem would like to share with you. This is the 4th I've shared thus far:
"If God chooses to turn evil into good, as He often does, that is no reason why we should do evil; and it is no justification of sin! see more The murder of Christ at Calvary has brought the greatest possible benefit to us, yet it was a high crime against God, the greatest of all crimes, when man turned deicide and slew the Son of God!”–1892, Sermon 2255
And yet another Gem from Spurgeon: “Unless the grace of God prevents, that which is best rots into that which is worst. You could not make a devil except with an angel for the raw material—a Judas Iscariot could only be produced out of an Apostle of Jesus Christ.”–1895, Sermon 2412
Here's another Gem from Spurgeon: “I say again that detailed obedience is the surest evidence that the Lord has forgiven your sin. For instance, ‘He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved’ (Mar 16:16). Do not omit any part of that precept. And if Christ bids you come to His Table and thus remember Him, do not live in neglect of see more that command. At the same time, remember to live soberly, righteously, honestly, godly in this present evil age, for if you do not, if there is not a detailed obedience, there may be a fear that after all, the Lord has never said to you, ‘Thy sins be forgiven thee’ ” (Mat 9 9:2).–1893, Sermon 2337
Here is a Gem from Spurgeon: “If you believe [in God], your belief will kill your sinning, or else your sinning will kill your believing! The greatest argument against the Bible is an unholy life; and when a man will give that up, he will convict himself.”–1893, Sermon 2305
1 Peter 1:22-23 "Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of see more corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever..."
Here's another brief portion of Chapter Eight of the book - Freedom From Twelve Sins by Kelly Varner
Another major hurdle is just up ahead—watch out for the besetting sin of elitism. see more
What Is Elitism? Webster’s defines elite to mean, “the choice or most carefully selected part of a group, as of a society or profession.”
Elitism is a mind-set that has pervaded contemporary Christianity. Elitism contends that one person, or gender, or class of people is superior to another, fostering a spiritual caste system among us.
"But this thou [the Church at Ephesus] hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate..." (Revelation 2:6).
"But I have a few things against thee [the Church at Pergamos], because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling-block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate..." (Revelation 2:14-15).
A biblical synonym for this impediment is Nicolaitanism. Of note is the attitude of the Lord toward those who hold fast to this teaching and practice: He hates it! This word in Revelation 2:6 means that He “detests” it.
Mentioned only twice in the Bible, the Greek word for “Nicolaitans” is Nikolaites, which means “a Nicolaite, adherent of Nicolaus; destruction of the people.” It is derived from Nikolaos (victorious over the people), which in turn is taken from nikos (conquest, triumph; be victor over; to utterly vanquish) and from laos (a people, people group, tribe, nation, all those who are of the same stock and language). This could be rendered as, “conquering the laity.”
Nicolaitanism is a growing sense of aristocracy that has chosen to rule over the people instead of serving them.
The Nicolaitans were an early Christian heretical sect made up of the followers of Nicolas, who was possibly the deacon of Acts 6:5.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
How well do you know the "isms" that have stealthily invade the Christian world-your world? How prepared are you to recognize and resist their tempting lures? Those who press into maturity during this Third Day must hurdle over man-made teachings to reach the goal of eternal freedom.
False teachings have hindered the individual and corporate advancement of God's Kingdom. From his extensive knowledge of the Scriptures and his own personal testimony, author Kelly Varner clearly identifies and explains twelve deadly sins and how they have manifested in the post modern church.
Just finished reading the NT and wanted to remind us of the final piece of advise or final warning given in the Book of Revelation, here it is: Revelation 22:18-19
"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of see more this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Just wanted to encourage us to get it right should we preach/teach the Word, because God means what He says and it would be a travesty if we shun or deny this warning... #Preachitright #justsaying
Containing my read and now into the Book of Revelations. Here's a song from that Book: Revelation 15:3-4
"They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God see more Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”
Those Words right there... They are very Powerful and truly describes our God. And I believe that the Words of this song are still being sung and echoed throughout the earth and for all Generations... #JustandTrueareYouLord #YourWaysarePrefect #YouareHoly #justsaying
This is it... The weekend of #FIFA2014... Predictions? Any? I am saying that Brazil and Costa Rica will be bounced today... As you know for me there is a "love/hate" relationship with Brazil this world cup but I think they are going to get bounced today - Colombia is really playing well and they are like men on a mission. Brazil will see more have to dig deep into its bag of soccer glories and come up with something really special to beat this bunch...
Anyways, that is my prediction and am sticking to it - LOL
Here's another Good Word from Apostle John, this is just Wise Counsel... 1 John 1:5-7
"This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say see more that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."
"Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that see more when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter."
At times we could forget that we are Called to suffer reproach for walking with Jesus. And that when this occurs it is actually a huge blessing upon our lives. We have to be so careful that we have not "bought" into the "love everybody and everything" fruit that we cannot make a true STAND for Jesus.
Remember #HeisLord, yes we have been bought with a Price and as such we must Glorify Him who paid the price... #justsaying
Continuing my read of the NT and here's a good Word to daily live by. You just cannot go wrong with this One: 1 Peter 3:10-12
"For "He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. Let see more him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
"Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the see more grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears."
So yeah this Christian Walk calls for some serious discipline and dedication on our part. It calls for constantly "pursuing" peace and holiness, without which we WILL NOT be able to see God. So do not be deceived into believing any "cheap" message that does not call for disciplined living because that will surely lead you astray... #liveright #doright #beright
Hebrews, Great Book! Here's another quote: Hebrews 12:7-8
"If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons."
