But the Bible says in Acts 4:12, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." Alan Kennedy That's right, Mei. So many Christians have never thought about this. This was one of the first things I thought about after I was saved. I was blessed to have been saved and brought up under the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ so I immediately learned that this is God's Word we're dealing with, and it has to have sway over our own perception of things.

Alan Kennedy Yes, it is either/or; Jesus left no room for a middle ground when He said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; No one comes to the Father except through Me" John 14:6 You either take Him at His Word or you don't take Him at all. Surprising how many Christians think that all the world religions are basically the same, i.e. they are just different paths to the same God. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Either Jesus is the Only way, or He is no way! Like you, my money's on Him!

If you are a facebook buddy, are you not "associating" with someone? If you proclaim Jesus loudly on your page and on your posts, are you not perhaps causing someone to stumble by your friendship with those who call themselves Christians, but fall into the above categories?

If someone is obviously living together with someone without being married, and proudly calling themself a Christian, is that not cause to disassociate yourself from that person? If they proclaim that their significant other that they are not married to is their "lover" and their "partner", does that not mean they are having sex without being married? This falls into the category of "immoral" in the verse quoted above.

Christian fellowship is different if the person living in sin calls themself a Christian than if that person does not. If a person claims to be a Christian and lives their life as a gay or lesbian, proclaiming that God will let gays and lesbian so-called Christians into Heaven (He will not, by the way--see the Scripture for more details--Romans 1 and Revelation 21:8 for starters, which says: "But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars--their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."), you are putting your stamp of approval on their lifestyle when you have fellowship with them. And it applies just as much to Facebook as to in-person encounters. When you click the "like" button when they post such things you are saying you agree and approve. The verses above from 1 Cor. 5 tell us not to associate with them. This means not going shopping together nor having them on your Facebook friends list.

But if they are not a Christian, that is different, according to verse 10. We are in the world to be a light to unbelievers. So we can associate with them for the purpose of winning them to Christ. Not that we can have close fellowship with them as we would a Christian because we can't be bound together with unbelievers in the sense of having a strong bond that we could have with other Christians.

The purpose of disdaining to associate with Christians who are living in the manner described is that they may be made aware that God does not approve of their behavior. And as God's representatives here on this earth we should be aware that the decisions of this nature on the earth carry the weight of God behind them: Matthew 18:18 "I assure you: Whatever you bind on earth is already bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth is already loosed in heaven."

Let's live as Christians, heeding every word of Scripture. It is given for us to study and to obey it; every last word is important. We are Christ's ambassadors here on the earth. As you have probably heard it said, we are the only Bible some folks will ever read!

Brenda Lenoir I post on FB to family half are Saved, the other half I see coming to Christ. I can see the results of God work there. We must be like Jesus and go whereever the lost is. And many are lost on FB but some hearts are changing when we continue to preach on God's love. I have heard of my posts on Jesus going thru many of their friends. So I must continue my work there until God burdens my spirit to stop. The few friends I have there is Saved but even if someone tells me I am struggling--

Alan Kennedy I have no problem witnessing to the lost, posting on their page, liking their posts, etc. It's those who say they are Christian and behave like the devil that these verses warn against having fellowship with.

It's amazing to me how morals have changed almost overnight in our country. (And pretty much the world over.) Gay is ok and is pretty much the new norm. Although the Bible says it's wrong people think you can be a Christian and still practice it. Never read their Bible apparently.

The Wolf Cometh

see more was fooled by the wolf into thinking he was her grandma. Let's face it, the devil doesn't knock on your door and introduce himself, declaring that he wants to ruin your life if you'll let him. He has to have a disguise so you'll believe his deceptions.

People can easily fool us if we're not careful. They profess to believe like we believe and to have the same interests as we do. They will become your facebook friend and you will see the pages they have liked are the same as yours. They will talk to us in the sweetest tones and before long we think they are a really good friend. But in the end their selfish motives are revealed, and we're left mourning over the loss we received at their hand.

The devil always wants to compromise a Christian. He doesn't have to turn you into a non-believer (although he'll try). All he has to do is to get us to engage in some activity that will in the end cause us to fall out of fellowship with God. Then our witness to others is lost.

Like a chess match, you don't often see the fatal move until it's too late. And the devil is a master chess player. He dangles all sorts of goodies in front of us to entice us to do what he wants. He knows you better than you think!

And, like Eve in the garden, who reached out to take what was attractive in front of her, we don't see the devil's ultimate strategy. When we wait for God's best instead, the devil is foiled and God is glorified.

But when we compromise our integrity and our morals for some choice morsel, we fall right into his trap. Fellowship with God is not like it used to be. We know it, and the only way back is to repent of that particular sin and to firmly declare that we will never fall victim to it again. God doesn't call the perfect--he perfects the called.

When something appears too good to be true, it probably is. You don't have to ask whether it's good or bad, but is it of God or the devil.

God help us to be innocent as doves but wise as serpents. He loves us as we are, but doesn't allow us to stay as we are. When we apply the knowledge He has given us, He shows us more. But if we don't even obey what he has already shown us, why should He lead us to the next level? Spiritual stagnation will result from disobedience to the Father's known will.

As Little Red Riding Hood was rescued from the belly of the wolf by the good hunter, God will rescue us from the evil one, even if we have already been taken in by his deception. Though we may have lost something that we valued that we will never get back, the devil cannot take away our fellowship with God, and that is the important thing.

It is important to press on till the victory is ours. Though we falter and fail Him miserably, we can never succeed if we're worried about egg on our face. It is not that our witness is important for our benefit so we can look good and say to others, "Look what a good Christian I am!", but that He will be glorified through His ability to use an imperfect creature such I. Or the apostle Paul. He was once a murderer, but he admitted his fault and became one of the best witnesses for God ever.

Let's confess our sins before God and once for all declare that it is not our righteousness but His that must be glorified. We can learn from our mistakes and be better than ever. And, like Little Red Riding Hood, we'll always be grateful to the God Who has rescued us from ourselves, and will praise His Name forever.
