Facebook login.

  1. Gracehope.com believes in an open community, where users use their real identities to communicate and share/post content. The reason for implementing the login via Facebook for all users is to ensure that their Gracehope.com account is tied to a real identity/person. This prevents people with grievious intent from creating fake user accounts or impersonating another person.

    We do NOT share any of our users' personal information with Facebook. Any content that a user posts on Gracehope.com is NOT shared on Facebook unless the user hits the "Share to Facebook" option.

    Our heart and intent is to keep the community safe for our users.

    I don't have a personal Facebook account

    1. Go to Facebook.com & fill in the form to register.
    2. When you have set up a Facebook.com account, go to Gracehope.com & click on login with Facebook button on Gracehope.com

  2. Is your Gracehope login email different from your Facebook login email?

    Yes, my Gracehope login email is different from Facebook log in email.

    1. Click on login with Facebook button on Gracehope.com
    2. Tick the check box "I already have a Gracehope.com account on the popup
    3. Enter your existing Gracehope.com email & password
    4. Click "Continue"


  3. Still having problems? Make sure you have removed the existing Gracehope app in Facebook.

    In order for you to log in, you must remove the existing Gracehope app in Facebook.
    1. Please click on "Log In or Sign Up With Facebook" on Gracehope.com
    2. When prompted to remove the Gracehope.com app from Facebook, click the link. It should take you to your App Settings in Facebook.
    3. Hit the "x" at the side of the Gracehope.com app to remove.
    4. Go to Gracehope.com and try to login again.


  4. I'm a Gracehope.com Official page user. How do i sign in?

    Gracehope.com Official pages belong to churches, ministries or authors. To sign in to your account, simply follow the steps below:

    1. Please click on link shown by the red arrow below to login
    2. Enter your email & password to proceed


How do I upload a profile picture?

Click on “Settings” (top right corner of every page) or “Edit Profile” (Left column in your wall). Select “Edit Profile Image” and go to “Change Your Profile Image”. Click “Browse” to search for the picture you want to upload.

 

I have tried to upload my profile picture but even though I’ve tried different pictures, I am unable to. Why is this so?

There are a few possible reasons as to why you can’t upload your profile picture:

  1. The file size of your picture may be too big. The picture that you choose must be less than 2 Mb in size in order for you to be able to upload it to Gracehope.com. Right click your selected picture and scroll down to “Properties”. This should give you a list of the selected picture’s properties, including its size.
  2. You may have used a browser that Gracehope.com does not function fully on. Please use Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3+, Safari 3+ , Opera 10+ or Chrome on a normal PC/MAC to log on to Gracehope.com and upload your profile picture.  
  3. You may be trying to upload your picture using a mobile device. Mobile phone/iPhone/iPad users, we are sorry but you will not be able to upload a picture using your mobile devices. You would need to use a normal PC/MAC to do so.
  4. Users with Windows Media Center may also have problems uploading profile pictures.
  5. To have access to all features of Gracehope.com, please click “Yes” when the following message pops up (for those using Internet Explorer 7): “This page contains both secure and non secure items. Do you want to display non secure items?”

If you are using Internet Explorer 8, please click “NO” when the following message pops up: “Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?”

*”Non secure items” actually refers to pictures and JavaScript that are not related to any security aspect of the site. It is safe to download them.

How do I remove my profile picture?

At this point, you will not be able to revert to having a blank avatar (or having no picture) once you have uploaded a profile picture. However, you can upload a new photo to replace the existing one. Should you decide that you would like your profile to be reset, please drop us an email at privacy@gracehope.com

 

The “location” indicated under my name is wrong. How do I change it?

As Gracehope.com uses an automated IP address to location checker, your location is automatically updated based on your IP address and you will not be able to edit it.

However, you can choose to hide your location if it is inaccurate. To do so, go to “Settings” (top right corner of every page) and select “Edit Privacy”. Under “My Location Settings”, you can choose to “Show Country and City”, “Show Country only” or “Hide All”.

 

How do I upload a video?

Only videos from YouTube can be uploaded onto Gracehope.com. To upload a video, copy and paste the YouTube link into your message and click “Post”. You can also add some text below the link.

Please note that you can only post a video on your own wall – you can’t post a video when you are commenting on someone else’s post.

 

Why can’t I view the videos uploaded by other users?

You need the latest version of Adobe flash in order to view videos on your PC/MAC. If you are using an iPhone/iPad, you can view videos on mobile Safari.  However, not all videos in YouTube can be viewed on mobile phones, so you might only be able to view them using a PC/MAC.

What is a “global” post/prayer request?

A “global” post is one that can be viewed by anyone on Gracehope.com.

When you upload a post, it will be sent only to your “friends” on Gracehope.com by default. If you would like to share it with everyone on Gracehope.com, please select “Post to Everyone” using the radio buttons provided just below the text box provided for your posts.

 

How can I get notifications from Gracehope.com to be sent to a different email account?

Notifications from Gracehope.com will be sent to the email address that you used to sign up for an account. To change this email address, go to “Settings” (top right corner of every page), and change the email address listed under “Sign-In Information”. Please remember to “Save” the changes to your settings by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and clicking “Save”.

 

How do I disable my account in Gracehope.com?

If you would like to disable your account, please send an email to privacy@gracehope.com

 

I have tried repeatedly to make changes to my settings but the changes don’t seem to be implemented.

 After you make any changes to your settings, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Save”. A message should be flashed on your screen if your settings have been successfully updated.

 

How do I “report” inappropriate posts on Gracehope.com?

Just above each post, you would see two options to “report” or “hide” the post. Click on “report” if you feel that an inappropriate comment has been made. This hides the content of the post from other users.

However, if you would like to report a particular user for repeatedly engaging in inappropriate behavior (eg. spamming, soliciting for personal information, repeatedly posting inappropriate content), you can contact us by scrolling all the way to the bottom of any page on Gracehope.com. Look for the “Contact Us” link to send us an email.

 

What happens when I “flag” or “report” a comment?

When more than one person “reports” a post, the contents of that post will be removed from the community wall, while the originator of the post will see a warning on his wall, stating that his post has been removed due to inappropriate content.

Why is there a prayer request from someone I do not know at the top of my wall?

Gracehope.com randomly features prayer requests from different users so that you can choose to pray for different people whom you might not encounter if you do not visit the Community wall. 

 

What is the difference between adding someone as a friend, and following that user?

When you “follow” someone on Gracehope.com, his/her global posts will be automatically appear on your wall, making it easier for you to be updated on any new global posts that he/she might make.

Posts made by your friends will also be automatically uploaded to your wall.

The difference between a “friend” and a “follower” is in the type of posts that they will receive from you. If you choose “Friends Only” when uploading a post, only your “friends” will see it; nobody else, including your followers, would be able to see that post. 

This means that you can keep any prayer requests, praise reports and words of inspiration that are private visible only to your own friends, making Gracehope.com a more meaningful and personal platform for you.

 

What does it mean to “follow” someone? How do I “follow” someone?

When you “follow” someone on Gracehope.com, his/her global posts will be automatically appear on your wall, making it easier for you to be updated on any new global posts that he/she might make. To “follow” someone, simply click on the person’s name to get to his/her wall. At the top of his/her wall, you will find the options to “Add as a friend” or “Follow this user”. Select “Follow this user”.

 

I have received friend requests from many users on Gracehope.com but I don’t know them. Is it rude to ignore their requests?

Do not feel obligated to accept everyone as a friend. You can simply “ignore” their requests, and they will automatically become your “followers” and can “follow” all posts that you share with "everyone”.

This means that you can keep any prayer requests, praise reports and words of inspiration that are private visible only to your own friends, making Gracehope.com a more meaningful and personal platform for you.


Why does my profile state that I am “following” 4 people when I have never clicked “follow” for any user?

When you try to “add” a friend, you automatically become the person’s “follower” so that all his/her global posts appear on your wall, allowing you to “follow” his/her posts easily. If that person accepts your friend request, you will become his/her “friend”.

I don’t want to be “followed”. How can I remove my followers?

To remove current followers, go to “My Wall”, and look at the column on the left. You will see a number appearing after “Followers”. Click on that number to see the list of people who are following you. To stop them from following you, click on the “delete” option that you will see next to their names.

To prevent anyone from “following” you, click on “Settings” (top right corner of every page) or “Edit Profile” (Left column in your wall). Select “Edit Privacy” and go to “My Site Settings”. Use the drop down list to change your options for “Allow people to follow me” to “No”.

Please remember to “Save” the changes to your settings by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and clicking “Save”.

 

Why does my profile state that I have “7 followers”? Who are they and where did they come from?

Other members of the Gracehope community can choose to become your “followers” by clicking on your name, and selecting the “Follow this user” option found at the top of every user’s wall.

If someone has requested to be your friend but (i) you have not accepted his/her friend request or (ii) you have chosen to “ignore” the request, he/she will also automatically become your follower.

To see who your followers are, go to “My Wall”, and look at the column on the left. You will see a number appearing after “Followers”. Click on that number to see the list of people who are following you.

 

How do I stop “following” someone?

Go to “My Wall”, and look at the column on the left. You will see a number appearing after “Following”. Click on that number to see the list of people whom you are following. To stop following someone, click on the “Remove” option that you will see next to his/her name.

 

When I look at the list of all my friends, their “stories” don’t seem complete. Why is that so?

There is a word limit for the amount of text that can be displayed for each friend in your list of friends. To view more details, simply click on their names.

 

How do I view a full list of my followers or the people I am following?

Go to “My Wall”, and look at the column on the left. You will see a number appearing after “Followers” and “Following”. Click on that number to see the list of people whom you are following/are following you. To view their details, click on their names.

 

How do I view a full list of my friends?

Go to “My Wall”, and look at the column on the left. Click “See All” in “My Friends” to see the full list of your friends. To view their details, click on their names.

I accepted too many friend requests, but would now like to trim down my “friends” list so that I can send private prayer requests and praise reports to my closer friends. What happens when I “remove” a friend?

When you remove someone from your list of friends, the person will no longer be your “friend”, and your posts will no longer be automatically uploaded onto their walls. If they still wish to receive your posts, they can “follow” you instead.

 

I don’t want to keep receiving an email every time someone requests to be my friend. Is there any way I can stop this?

Gracehope.com will send you an email each time someone requests to be your friend, or comments on a post that you made. You can choose to stop receiving these emails by clicking on “Settings” at the top right corner of every page on Gracehope.com. Next, click on “Email Notifications”, and indicate the email notifications you wish to receive by clicking “Yes” or “No” on the relevant radio buttons. Please remember to click “Save” once you are done!

 

How do I know if someone comments on my post?

Gracehope.com will send you an email each time someone comments on a post that you uploaded. You can also check out your wall (Click on “My Wall”) to see all the posts that you have uploaded, as well as comments that you made on other users’ posts.

 

How do I know if someone replies to a comment that I made on someone else’s post?

You can check out your wall (Click on “My Wall”) to see all the posts that you have uploaded, as well as comments that you made on other users’ posts. If someone has replied to a comment that you made, you would also be able to see it on your wall.

 

I am looking for a particular post but can’t find it anymore. Is there any way for me to search for a specific post?

If you remember the name of the person who uploaded the post, you can go to “My Wall”, and click on “Search Gracehope.com for friends” at the column on the right. Enter the name of the user that you are searching for, and click on his/her name. All posts that the user uploaded for “Everyone” can be viewed on his/her wall.

If you do not remember the user’s name, Gracehope.com unfortunately does not have a search function at this point which can allow you to search for specific posts.

 However, we are adding new features from time to time during this beta phase, so please check Gracehope.com’s wall for the latest updates.

To do so, please go to the Community Wall and look at the column on the right where it says “Latest Updates”. Click on “Gracehope.com’s wall”.

When you are at Gracehope.com’s wall, you can also click on “Follow this user” at the top of the wall. Once this is done, updates from Gracehope.com will be automatically uploaded onto your wall.

 

Why is it that some of the functions don’t seem to work when I log on to Gracehope.com using my iPad/mobile phone?

Gracehope.com is optimized for Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3+, Safari 3+ , Opera 10+ or Chrome on a normal PC/MAC. You may experience limited functions if you are using a mobile device as they do not have full browsers.

 

Is there any way I can send a personal message to my friends on Gracehope.com?

Not at this moment. However, we are in the process of adding a function which allows Gracehope community members to send Personal Messages to each other, so keep coming back to see what’s new on Gracehope.com and check out Gracehope.com’s wall for the latest updates!

 

Any plans to create an iPhone application (app) for Gracehope.com?

At this point, we do not have any mobile apps but we are looking into developing an iPhone app, so keep coming back to see what’s new on Gracehope.com and check out Gracehope.com’s wall for the latest updates!

 

In future, will there be a function on Gracehope.com which allows users to share links for ministry reports, blogs, lessons, etc. ?

We are careful not to add on too many functions which might lead to Gracehope.com becoming overly cluttered with links and possible spam.
